New York liquor licenses, and the history of each address
Type a bar, restaurant or store name. 126,218 records from the three State Liquor Authority files read on October 1, 2026: active, inactive and pending.
Taking over a bar or a restaurant? A dated license and premises report ($19) — or a whole list checked.
What this is
The State Liquor Authority publishes three files, updated daily: active licenses, inactive licenses and pending applications. Read alone, each says little. Read together, by address, they tell the story of a premises: who holds the license today, who held one there before and until when, and whether a new application is on file. This site makes that join.
Who uses it
- Buyers and landlords — the license history of an address before a lease or a sale.
- Distributors and suppliers — the applications on file, county by county.
- Owners — your own record and its expiration.
What it is not
Not the State Liquor Authority, and not the license. Licenses at the same address are not necessarily the same business — the record speaks of the premises. Disciplinary actions are not in these files.
